What is a Social Story?
A social story is a social learning tool that allows communication of information and expectations for an individual prior to a new experience. For example, a social story may focus on visiting a research lab for the first time. This would communicate to the individual what this visit might entail and what expectations they can have before visiting the lab. Social stories may be found on websites, such as the website for a pediatric dentist, or through a Google search for specific social stories.
